I'm Alive

If I knew my life was ending, how would I behave.
What would I do different, what memories would I save.
Would I see everything more clearly, as the sun begins to set.
Would I filter out distractions, so my mind could be at rest.

Chorus:
Why would it take a catastrophy, to make me understand.
That I wouldn’t change anything, if I had to live my life again.
I’m alive, I’m alive, I’m alive.

If I knew my life was ending, would I give up without a fight.
Or spend my last days suffering, under treatment day and night.
Would I revel in my existence, surround myself with those I love.
And finally come to understand, the inner peace we all dream of.

Chorus

If I knew my life was ending, would it make me sad.
To miss the things I’ve grown to love, all the pleasures I have had.
If I knew my life was ending, would it make me glad.
To have lived a life of music and love, and the chance to be a dad.

Chorus

I am alive.
